We are excited to welcome back a host of world-class tutors to lead our popular strings course in Aberystwyth. Our string courses at Musicfest are a joint solo program and a chamber music course, specialising in violin, viola, and cello. The 8-day course schedule includes:
  • Warm up
  • Individual lessons
  • Individual practice
  • Masterclasses with pianist
  • Chambermusic lesson and rehearsals
  • Showcase concerts
All students are part of this daily plan. Students can apply alone or together as a chamber group. All participants on the string course will be placed in a chamber group with others of the same level and age.
Every student will have several opportunities to rehearse with an accompanist and perform at least once in both a masterclass and a  concert. Our regular Showcase Concerts in the Great Hall provide wonderful performing opportunities for the students.
The outstanding evening concerts in the Musicfest Festival make an inspiring environment for the course, plus we a special outing to the lovely beaches of Aberystwyth will be arranged.
Every participant has their own room on the premises of the Aberystwyth University where practicing is allowed.

The course will include daily warm-up/technique time for all, individual and small group lessons, daily performance class with an accomplished professional accompanist for everyone. There will also be plenty of time for individual practice and performance opportunities in various showcase concerts.
