Lisa Nelsen will be leading a week of “everything you ever wanted to know about and to do with the flute”. Along with daily ‘Boot Camp’, work on studies and the common chamber and orchestral repertoire, Lisa’s duo partner, Eleanor Turner (harpist extraordinaire) will be working with all the participants during the week. There will be ample opportunity to study and play flute and harp works with Eleanor in one-to-one sessions, and during the daily class.
One-day session with Cello
There are many works written with cello continuo or obligato. With this in
mind, Julian Metzger will support and coach participants through works
written by JS Bach, Telemann, Handel…helping to show the importance of
the bass line in these and other works. Please bring any works that are
supported by basso continuo that you enjoy playing.
The following lists are guides only. The number of scale patterns, exercises,
studies and repertoire (and the issues that crop up because of them) IS VAST
and can’t be covered in a week. Please keep in mind that the time is limited,
and there are a lot of concerts to see, other classes to observe, personal time
with instruments…AND time to spend at the seaside. Believe me, the sunsets
are magnificent!!
