Overview

Led by internationally-acclaimed Speech Therapist, Audiologist and Countertenor, Dr Ron Morris, we are thrilled to welcome him back to Musicfest Aberystwyth 2021. This course will look at the changes that occur in the larynx and respiratory system throughout the singer’s life. We will cover the anatomy and physiology of each stage and examine what these changes mean for the singing and speaking voices. Some ideas for teaching each age group will be considered with appropriate exercises discussed, including topics on basic Anatomy and physiology of the voice, the voices of infants and children, the changing voice of both boys and girls, and the more mature singer

Financial Support

Musicfest Aberystwyth welcomes bursary students from all over the world and prides itself on offering high-quality, intensive training for music students, graduates, and music professionals. We do not wish finance to be a barrier to attending our Summer School so our bursaries (funds towards the cost of fees) are available to help students, graduates and young musicians attend our courses. Friends of MusicFest provide bursaries towards MusicFest Aberystwyth course fees for students in full-time education. The number of bursaries available is limited, so it is essential you apply as soon as possible.  For more information and how to apply, please visit our Fees and Bursaries page.
